INDIVIDUAL REGISTRATIONIndividual registration and participation is encouraged and accepted in all Sea Base programs. In the event that an individual scout registers for any program he or she will be combined with other participants to create a full size crew. Provisional participants registered for Sea Kayaking will still be able to select their own route. The Pamlico Sea Base reserves the right to combine individuals or crews numbering less than 10 to form a complete crew. UNIT REGISTRATIONA full crew for Sea Kayaking and Sailing is defined as 12 people (usually 10 youth participants and 2 adult participants). The programs offered by the Sea Base provide an excellent scaffold for your older scouts to develop their team work and leadership skills together. Please notice that the maximum crew size is 12 people. At least one member of your crew must be certified in American Red Cross Standard First Aid and CPR from the American Heart Association, the American Red Cross or an equivalent. Crews participating in the sea kayaking trek are isolated on the barrier islands on North Carolina. While medical evacuation services are available the crew needs to be prepared in the event the guide is injured. |
